It is the second week of December and the holiday cheer is already in full swing: Christmas events, gift shopping, and prepping for travel home. Is it not amazing how quickly the month goes, full of spirit and joy, while say, February, with it's chilly temps and storms (snow in NYC and rain in PDX), drags on despite it being the shortest month of the year?! Thus, WE decided to bask in the glory of December by kicking Christmas on our blog off a couple weeks early. To do so, SPV interviewed KBG about all things Christmas!
What is your favorite part about the season leading up to Christmas?
KBG: The joy & excitement to see loved ones over the holidays. Portland seems to be a mecca of transplants from all over the country, and when the holidays roll around, you know they are anticipating the exciting journey home. Oh and also, decorating my own place with Christmas cheer. It makes it the season that much more beautiful!
What is your favorite Christmas treat?
KBG: Mom's Christmas brunch- Sarah Glenn goes all out, and it varies from year to year! Usually she makes one big center dish of some extravagant luscious treat, with the classics on the side: eggs, sausage, veggies, and toast. Oh, and don't forget the mimosas. ;)
What fun gifts are you keeping your eye on for friends this year?
What is at the top of your Christmas list?
KBG: An iPhone 6s because... It's about that time.
Tell me about your favorite Christmas tradition.
KBG: Christmas Day! Waking everyone up super early, pouring a warm cup of coffee (maybe with a dash of kahula + cream), and snuggling up on the couch by the tree with my family and my dogs. This year, we're deciding to do less gift-giving! And in the evening, a big Christmas dinner with my grandparents. SO much love and so much family fun.
More holiday cheer, final gifting for my ladies, + DIY to come on our IG! Can't post images of it all because it would give away the surprise! ;)
