WE Eat: Brunch at Locanda Verde by SPV

When I am passionate about anything (Bar Method, Chanel foundation, my church, my latest protein bar obsession…you get the point), people KNOW. That is because I tell them. I am pretty awful at keeping secrets, so when there is something I LOVE, I tell everyone. When KBG and I set out to create WE Perceive, I knew immediately I would use it as a platform to share my NYC favorites as I discovered them.

It was easy to decide on the first restaurant I would share, because Locanda Verde has it all. The space is airy and bright, the interior is chic without being pretentious, the menu covers all bases, and if you forget to make a reservation, waiting for a spot at the swanky bar rarely takes more than 10 minutes! While I have yet to try their dinner, I am here today to disclose (through a photo-montage by my talented friend, Louisa of TLO) all of my favorite aspects of my recently-dubbed favorite brunch spot.

Uovo Modenese, a twist on an eggs Benedict (sans bread, for gluten-free-ers like me), is my go-to. The typical poached eggs are perfectly paired with an unexpected tomato hollandaise, spinach, and cotechino hash (aka a type of Italian sausage). TLO had the house-made granola with plump berries; is it not just picture perfect?! If you did not catch Sunday’s insta, Locanda Verde iced coffee tastes like cereal—and the best part?! They have heavy cream, my fav.

In the past I have tried the Sheep’s Milk Ricotta with truffle honey and burnt orange toast, and the crispy garlic potatoes. They are both to-die for. Which makes me believe you cannot go wrong with anything on their brunch menu.

If you’re in NYC or plan to be any time soon, please do yourself a favor and make Locanda Verde a destination on your brunch hit-list. You will not regret it.

Looking forward to sharing more!
