It's March and SPRING HAS SPRUNG! (Kinda...) Weather in Portland has been suuuper bipolar, but the flowers are blooming, and they are to die for.
Saying goodbye to winter and hello to spring, I realized it was time to switch up a few products (typical KBG). For awhile, I have been using Keihl's Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash, but could tell my skin was ready to try something new. I have been really into buying travel size. I know, kinda weird, but it's a great way to see if I like the product before investing in the full size. Also pretty sure Birchbox got me hooked on mini sized beauty treats.
I'm testing out a couple products from the Mario Badescu skin care line: the Acne Facial Cleanser and Cellufirm Moisturizer. The acne cleanser is really effective, however it does dry out my skin a bit. I'm not sure if it is something that I will invest in down the line, but I do like it for the time being and will certainly finish it off. The moisturizer, though, is amazzzing. It has collagen and seaweed extract in it, which helps reduce fine lines and plumps the skin leaving it silky smooth. Highly recommend!
Another beauty trend I'm really into is sheet masks. They are freaky-looking, especially on your face and feel so bizarre, but worth it because they are outrageously hydrating and refreshing. Is your skin is feeling a bit dull? Put a sheet mask on. Really hung over and feel like your skin is thirsty? Put a sheet mask on. Wanna just flat out relax? Put a sheet mask on. (You catch my drift...I love 'em).
Other products that I'm loving include the Thayer's Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner and Glycol Lactive Radiance Renewal Mask by REN. They simply refresh and brighten the skin!
Since I don't live by the coast anymore, I don't get that natural effect from the seawater and ocean breeze. AKA, I have to fake it, which is not a problem thanks to the Herbivore Sea Mist Texturizing Salt Spray. It's all natural, which makes my hair literally look like I spent all day basking in the sun, listening to the ocean.
Also thanks to Birchbox, Daily Beauty for Life Healing Argon Oil and Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect spray have become a couple of my latest faves. Both have been doing wondrous things to my hair! The argon oil is great to mix with pure organic coconut oil for an overnight hair mask. The prep & protect spray not only detangles, but also protects the hair from heat damage and leaves it so soft! Definitely give these two a try.
